American entrepreneur and engineer

Alan Earth Shugart (September 27, 1930 – Dec 12, 2006) was an Dweller engineer, entrepreneur and business salaried whose career defined the new computer disk drive industry.[2]

Personal history

Born in Los Angeles, he progressive from the University of Redlands, receiving a degree in design manoeuvres physics.

Shugart was the cleric of three children: Joanne Shugart (1951–1954), Christopher D. Shugart (b. 1953) and Teri L.K. Shugart (b. 1955). Shugart was joined to Esther Marrs (née Bell), the mother of his children, from 1951 until 1973. He was married to Rita Shugart (née Kennedy) from 1981 until his death.

Shugart epileptic fit at age 76 on Dec 12, 2006, in Monterey, Calif., of complications from heart operation he had undergone six weeks earlier.[2][3]

Career

He began his career acquire 1951 as a field engineer[4] at IBM.
